X Games
July 30, 2010
Attended my first X Games. AMAZING! and can I say that Pastrana is RIDICULOUS!!!!!
I also didn't realize that they had a division for the disabled. It's called Adaptive Sports.  Adaptive athletes compete in Moto X Super X Adaptive and the Skateboard Park Adaptive Jam with both wheelchairs and skateboards.

Venice Summerfest
July 26, 2010
Sat and Sunday is the annual Venice Summer Festival
At Venice/Muscle Beach, a festival of vendors, food, entertainment, and this year there was arm wrestling.
It seems that each weekend I'm working some event out here and it's funny that the homeless is starting to be-friend me.
Saturday was an interesting day to say the least. Not to bore you with the details so here's the synopsis:
~Pick up at 7am
~Sitting in line to unload gear for an hr
~Meter maid kicked us out before we could unload: got into with her in the car and in person (SHe did apologize)
~Left Santa Monica to drive in LA traffic downtown to pick up UPS packages needed for a movie premier. The packages were there but they didn't know where so they wouldn't let me take them.
~Stopped and bought cases of water for staff at event
~Dropped water off at booth before parking 1.5 mi away
~$50 parking ticket
~Parked 1.5mi away and walked back to event
~worked til 5pm
~Walked 1.5mi BACK to get car and load
~Cab driver almost t-boned me and then yelled at me....THE NERVE. But when he called me an ugly inappropriate name, I got out and confronted him. To say the least, I think he clocked out to change his pants.
~2 blocks from dropping friend off, cops pulled over for talking on phone while driving (illegal in cali).....HA, got outta that one too!
~Got home and crashed at 9pm
Sunday: repeat (without all the issues)

SO......Can i say that I"M BEAT!!!!!!!
Work on Monday. Never a dull moment.

A whole new level....

So I've built this machine and not really sure of the capabilities it has. As a bodybuilder, we spend so much time on sculpting and perfecting how our bodies appear, it's rare that you see how it performs.
Bodybuilder = Aesthetics, Manifestation
Powerlifter = Strength, Power
Athlete = Physical Agility, Skill

Extreme Athlete = Aesthetics/Manifestation, Strength/Power, Physical Agility and Skill COMBINED

I had my first training session with Scott Marshall, former competitive bodybuilder
Scott and Debbie have built a training facility that will take anyone's training abilities to unlimited capabilities.
Runyon Canyon
June 14, 2010
The weekend has come and gone....all too quick!
I adventured out and in quest to find who I am at this point of my life, I'm trying new things. It's funny how we sub-conciously tend to fall within our comfort zone and forget to venture out from our daily routines.  I read a quote the other day that has stuck with me......"Life begins when we step outside of our comfort zone".
It made me think of everything that I have done/accomplished and everything that I want to do and haven't done. Living in LA has so much to offer and I have NO IDEA what I even like to do....other than the obvious. Although working out and training has made me who I am today, I feel that LIFE has more to offer. I'm from a small town in the  Southeast that has little to no culture options. For some, that's ok.  For me? I need more!
Challenges....Opportunity....Curiosity....Adventure!
(LOL! It sounds a little cheesy but who cares)

That being said, I am re-evaluating my priorities to decide what I want the next phase of my life to be.

Starting with the little stuff....
I've never hiked before. I visited Runyon Canyon on Saturday.  Took what I thought was the easy road. PFT! It was harder than I thought.
California weather will make anyone want to be outside so i went back on Sunday.  I saw a small little trail that many people (of all ages and sizes) where taking. Even the old and young dogs. I figured it couldn't be that hard. Needless to say, it was practically Rock Climbing! HOLY S**T! One of the best cardio workouts. And I'm NOT a fan of cardio! By the time I got home, my glutes felt like I went through an extensive and intense leg workout with my trainer Tony. Those of you who have trained with him know what I'm feeling.

As for the coming weekend, yes I'll return but after I visit Big Bear Lake for a Biker Event.  There will be more on that later. Should be interesting!

Flex Wheeler
May 15, 2010
First off, my apologies for not updating lately.
Work has had me so busy and I have neglected everything else. Those of you who have followed me closely know that my job/career is very important to me so I give it my 100% attention.  In addition, I apparently can't multi task either. (That's a lil humor but a lil truth as well)
Last week I had the pleasure to work closely with Flex Wheeler and help promote his supplement line All American EFX.
If you're not familiar with his signature series, please check it out. Definitely has my seal of approval and recommendation.

On a side note, a very close friend of mine is visiting this week from Jacksonville. Never a dull moment with her so I'll be sure to update our exciting adventures over the weekend.

BOREDOM
April 5, 2010

Boredom is an emotional state experienced during periods lacking activity or when individuals are uninterested in the opportunities surrounding them.

There’s one thing you have to fear, more than fear itself: BOREDOM

Boredom is nearly useless.  The only thing boredom does is to remind you that you are letting life slip by you.  Boredom is what you regret spending time on, every time. Worse yet, the more boredom you have in your life, the more boring you are as a person.  And nothing can kill an opportunity then by actually being downright… boring.

Frankly, boredom will keep your lazy ass in doors.   It’ll keep you from going to the gym.  It’ll keep you from trying new events.  It’ll keep you from traveling around the world.  Or staying in that crappy job because it pays the bills.

No one talks about the boring times they’ve spent, why?  Because it’s boring to hear it.   Frankly, boredom will drain your life away.  You should fear that above all else!!!

So I propose the next time you are out, and you start rooting into the floor with fear that the “timing” isn’t right to talk to a group of guys/girls, decide right there that of all the things you could be, you are not going to boring.  You will not be lame!

Then just go and blow the damn set up, simply to see what happens.  It’ll be far more entertaining that just standing around doing nothing.   I’ll take risk of a momentarily bruised ego for getting shot down, than boredom any day.  It’s frankly a lot safer.

"I HAVE GREAT AMBITION TO DIE FROM EXHAUSTION RATHER THAN BOREDOM"!

PS....I appreciate those of you concerned about my "spellcheck" but I wanted to update everyone on a previous post: Dave Bautista's name is in fact spelled with a "U".  Not many people know this but WWE decided to leave out the U to make it easier for the public. Hence, I spelled both ways in my blog.

***Just a tid bit of info fo ya! ;P

Lunch w/ Bautista
March 23, 2010
It's always great to visit with good friends. In this particular case, paparazzi caught us (Dave Bautista, Jovan, Maurice, and myself) having lunch at Sauce .
It was quit an event when WWE Batista scared the living PISS out of one of the camera men. They didn't catch the exact moment but let me tell you, he jumped about 50 feet.
Dave is a GREAT guy and always takes care of his friends. It's never a dull moment when he's around, especially when his "boyz" are around. Yeah that's you Jovan!!!

Random thoughts on thoughts

" Your thoughts are the most powerful tool that you have, and can create so many things in your life. They can open up doorways you never thought possible. Your thoughts can be positive or they can be negative. They can be bad or good. They can be about success, or failure, or about being wealthy in life, or being of poor circumstances. Your thoughts are, what you choose them to be. The most important thing of all, is that you recognize and understand, that you are guided and directed by your thoughts. They play a tremendous role in your day to day life, and in reality, a huge role in who you are today. Today, and in the future, think thoughts that will shape you into who you only dream of being. Your thoughts will direct you to where you want to go, and your action behind your thoughts will take you there."

I sit here now and start analyzing my thoughts.  I feel like my thoughts turn into doubt and worry.  So instead of asking these questions, I answer them; It's not about what I don't have or what I haven't gotten.  I ask one simple question....What do I want NEXT out of life?

Dream a better dream, then work to make it Real!

IM BACK!
March 8, 2010
Well, where to begin? First off, I want to apologize for launching my site then "launching my disappearance"!
I'm finally back and will try to keep the updates coming! Those of you that have purchased photos, they will be mailed out this week.

Thank you all for the Birthday wishes and gifts!  All of you are amazing!

I did take a weekend trip to San Francisco.  It was a great visit. A little short but long at the same time.

FRIDAY:
4:30am Woke up
6:00am Arrived at friend's house...... "Kathy"- she also babysits China
6:30am Starbucks
9:30am Gas station (half way to SF)-Kathy realizes she left her purse at Starbucks (with EVERYTHING in it). We call FedEx, spoke with Buzz in Dallas location to schedule a pick up to overnight to our hotel in SF. He was so nice and helpful! It's always good to "politely" speak with the manager.
10:00 - 2:00pm LOST-I decided to take a cat nap and was awakened to "S**T: Recalculating". That's Kathy cussing and the GPS reconfiguring....3x's LOL!
3:30pm Arrived to SF. What was suppose to take 6hrs eventually turned into 9hrs.

Once we checked into hotel, we walked to the Wharf, shopped a little, watched a great acrobatic performance on the street, and ate dinner.

SATURDAY:
7-8:00am Woke up
Basically waited until 12noon for kathy's purse to arrive (while missing Alcatraz pre-paid tour)
12:00pm Kathy got her purse and all was good.

Can't quite remember what we did during the day but met a friend Nick for afternoon lunch.  We visited with his babies....Seven, Teddy, and my fav Roxy (2 pitt bulls and Roxy the Rottie).  After that we had dinner at Nick's friend's house. Met great people and had an awesome time.

SUNDAY:
Breakfast at a cute little restaurant (I gotta get better at the name thing-check my twitter) and met Terri and Larry. If anyone knows where to get the Pittsburg Steeler hat with all the Super Bowls on it, please let me know. It's a bet I have.

We finally left SF at 2:30pm. I DROVE. Kathy wanted to detour and take the long way home down the 101 so i drove. Now, that means the drive was suppose to take 7hrs.  Yes i have a heavy leg so we made it in 6hrs.  I don't think Kathy's car has ever seen those numbers before!

All in All.....a fun weekend. Next city of adventure.......NEW YORK CITY!!!!!!

There comes a time when you must stand alone.
...but know when it's ok to ask for help.

You must feel confident enough within yourself to follow your own dreams.
...Once in a while, Re-evaluate that your dreams are goals within arms reach.

You must be willing to make sacrifices.
...Realize the difference between sacrifice and priorities.

You must be capable of changing and rearranging your priorities so that your final goal can be achieved.
...Priority = what IS your true priorities in Life?

Sometimes, familiarity and comfort need to be challenged.
...Is unchartered territory safe at any time?

There are times when you must take a few extra chances and create your own realities.
...Some say that perception is reality. Agree or Disagree?

Be strong enough to at least try to make your life better.
...You must be able to determine HOW to better your life if you're going to try.

Be confident enough that you won't settle for a compromise just to get by.
...Settling for Contentment, seems to be the easy way these days.

Don't stand in someone else's shadow when it's your sunlight.
...Should I speak up? Do I act now? Is it ok to feel? Don't ask, ACT

It's Friday night and I'm learning how to check my emails....
January 29, 2010
So the website is off to a good start. With the exception of my computer crashing the day it went live. Bare with me as I just bought a MAC yesterday (after being without a computer for a week). Those of you that own a MAC computer, I should of opted for the One-To-One training class. LOL! They are waaaay different than PC's.  I'm lovin it though.

Make sure to pick up a copy of the latest Muscular Development issue. My boy Cedric McMillan is on the cover and the MD staff has been VERY optimistic and proactive in giving me a 4 page spread. Cheri Owens did an amazing job on the interview and of course Per Bernal's photos are phenomenal!!! I hope you like it.
That being said, at any time you are a fan of ANY coverage that we (the women of this sport) get, please take the time to write, comment on the forums, email the staff and let them know.  As much as we appreciate the feedback directly, if the editors don't hear it or see it in the numbers, our exposure and coverage will continue to diminish.

On a lighter note, IT'S THE WEEKEND! Relax! Enjoy yourself! If you're going to work, then work your ass off and make it worth it!
